A good kid’s book is a thing of magic. It can spark a child’s creativity and imagination, transport them to far-off places full of adventure and excitement, all the while helping them make sense of their own world.
But did you know that reading to children is one of the best ways to stimulate their brain development and help them learn? Studies show that children who are read to from an early age do better both in school, and in life.
For just $25 a month you can join the Kids’ Book Club and build your child’s library, from birth until five years of age. Each month they’ll receive an exciting new book selected by a panel of early-learning specialists to best suit their age and stage of development, and to foster a love of reading.
But that’s just the start of the story. Every membership to the Kids’ Book Club also supports a range of activities in United Way Australia’s early literacy programs for children in Australian communities experiencing disadvantage. Your child’s membership means we can give other children the chance to improve their early literacy skills too, through our programs that deliver quality, age appropriate children’s books (just like the ones your child will receive), support parents to increase shared reading at home, and facilitate community activities that spread the love of reading far and wide.
